Whe man in Wales has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a woman who mistook his home for her lodgings. The 46-year-old has to spend at least 14 years in prison like them BBC reported from the courtroom in the city of Caernarfon on Friday.
The 71-year-old woman from Birmimgham visited the village of Barmouth in July 2022 and booked into a bed and breakfast. After having a drink with friends in the evening, she accidentally walked into the 46-year-old’s house on the same street, got into bed there and fell asleep. “That was a mistake that eventually cost her her life,” said prosecutor Michael Jones. Because the man found the sleeping woman, beside himself with rage, dragged her down the stairs and kicked her to death there.
In court, prosecutor Michael Jones described the mix-up of the 71-year-old as a “mistake that ended up costing her her life,” according to the BBC. The dead woman’s daughter said the murder “totally destroyed our family life”. She didn’t understand why her mother had to die.
