Woman dies in police operation in Hochtaunuskreis

EA 39-year-old woman is after one Police operation died in Usingen (Hochtaunuskreis). The cause of death was initially unclear, as the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) announced on Friday. A witness called the police late Thursday evening because the woman had rioted in her apartment. A police patrol found her on a nearby street and handcuffed her because the 39-year-old had behaved uncooperatively and aggressively and hit out.
As a result, the woman’s health deteriorated and the handcuffs were removed from her, as the LKA announced. Rescue workers were alerted and began resuscitation measures on site. A little later, the woman died in the hospital.
The LKA explained that the course of the operation and the circumstances of the woman’s death were being investigated. As is usual in such cases, the State Criminal Police Office took over the on-site investigation. The Frankfurt public prosecutor’s office has initiated proceedings against the police officers involved in the operation on suspicion of negligent homicide.
