Wirecard process: key witness wants to testify
Munich In the criminal proceedings for the alleged billion dollar fraud at the former Dax group Wirecard star witness Oliver Bellenhaus spoke for the first time on Monday (9:00 a.m.).
The defense of former Wirecard Managing Director in Dubai has announced that her client will testify and face his responsibility. According to the indictment, invented bogus transactions are said to have been booked through the subsidiary for years.
Bellenhaus stands alongside former CEO Markus Braun and former Wirecard-Chief accountant in court. The public prosecutor accuses the three defendants and several other suspects of having formed a criminal gang of fraudsters Falsified balance sheets and cheated the company’s lenders by more than three billion euros.
The fourth criminal chamber of the Munich I Regional Court opened the process last week. The court has scheduled a good 100 days of trial.
