War in Ukraine: struggle for a symbol – politics

The Ukrainian defenders of the city Bachmut come under increasing pressure after seven months of fighting for the small town in eastern Ukraine. However, a withdrawal of all Ukrainian troops is apparently not imminent. According to the deputy mayor, 4,000 people are still holding out in the city, which used to have a good 70,000 inhabitants.
