Concussion: The 81-year-old has to be treated in hospital after a fall in a hotel. Now he is happy to be home again. But he has to take it easy.

The Republican minority leader in the US Senate, Mitch McConnell, has been discharged from an inpatient physical therapy facility after suffering a concussion in a fall. The 81-year-old said on Saturday that he was happy to be back home. The Republican fell earlier this month in a hotel in the capital Washington and was then treated in the hospital. He will now work from home for the next few days, said the political veteran.

McConnell is the longest-serving party leader in US Senate history. According to the Chamber of Congress, he has been elected nine times since 2006 republican to be cited – depending on the outcome of the respective parliamentary elections and the seats of the parties in the Senate as majority or minority leaders.
