USA: 26 dead after tornadoes

At least 26 people have died as a result of the hurricanes in the United States. They have been found in collapsed buildings. Tennessee, Arkansas and Illinois are particularly affected by storm damage.

In the McNairy district in the state of Tennessee alone, there were nine deaths, the responsible sheriff’s office said on Saturday evening (local time). The victims were found in collapsed buildings.
Five other fatalities were reported from Arkansas and four from Illinois. People also died in the storms in Indiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Delaware, it was said.
According to the weather service, more than 50 cyclones that could be classified as tornadoes were counted in seven states, especially in the south and midwest of the country. Tens of thousands of homes were without power, at least temporarily, according to data from poweroutage.us.
