The general sounded unequivocal as he explained why Ukraine should take part in the largely destroyed city Bachmut holds. “Every day of the city’s defense allows us to gain time for preparing reserves and preparing for future offensive operations”, said General Oleksandr Syrsykyj, the commander of all Ukrainian land forces, on Thursday.
