The coveted TV awards were presented in Los Angeles in the evening for the 74th time. These actors and television producers were able to look forward to an award.

The media satire "Succession" has Emmy Awards won the award for Best Drama Series of the Year in Los Angeles. The series about the intrigues in a declining media dynasty had already received this award in 2020. Screenwriter Jesse Armstrong and supporting actor Matthew Macfadyen (in the role of Tom Wambsgans) were also recognized at the awards ceremony. In many other important categories, the 25-time nominated series, which is loosely based on the globally influential Murdoch clan, had to admit defeat.

Like last year, the football series "Ted Lasso" won the Emmy for best comedy of the year. Previously, director MJ Delaney, leading actor Jason Sudeikis and supporting actor Brett Goldstein also received the television award at the awards ceremony. The series running on Apple TV+ tells the story of a US football coach who takes over a football team in the UK.

Hollywood star Michael Keaton has won one of the first coveted TV awards of the evening. The 71-year-old won the award for best actor in a miniseries for his role in the pharmaceutical drama "Dopesick".

Other awards presented at the beginning of the hour-long gala went to Murray Bartlett as hotel manager in the satire "White Lotus" for best supporting actor in a miniseries, as well as to Julia Garner in "Ozark" and Matthew Macfadyen as son-in-law in the family drama "Succession" for Best Supporting Role in Drama Series.

The Emmys are awarded in more than 110 categories by around 20,000 members of the Television Academy. At the gala in the Microsoft Theater, the focus is on the main categories, dozens of awards in sub-categories were already presented last weekend.
