san francisco The US mobile communications subsidiary Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile, has become the most valuable telecommunications company in the world. T-Mobile reached a market capitalization of 179 billion euros on Tuesday. The US rival Verizon was 175 billion euros. The Chinese competitor China Mobile followed in third place in the ranking of the world’s most valuable telecommunications companies with a valuation of 145 billion euros.

That’s a surprising comeback story. For a long time, US business was considered Telekom’s problem child, which several CEOs have worked on in the past. Traditionally, German companies find it difficult to play at the top in the business with US consumers.
