Novak Djokovic caught a difficult preliminary group at the ATP finals. The long-time number one in the world from Serbia meets the Russian Daniil Medvedev, the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrei Rublev from Russia at the end of the season of the eight best tennis professionals. That was the draw. The other group features Spain’s Rafael Nadal – who has never won the year-end tournament – Norway’s Casper Ruud, Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime and Taylor Fritz of the USA. The first and second in each group advance to the semi-finals. Defending champion Alexander Zverev has to give up his participation because of his foot injury. Djokovic can catch up with record winner Roger Federer with a success in Turin, the Swiss has won the tournament six times.
