Together with party leader Lars Klingbeil, Rolf Mützenich takes the train to the war zone. It is not an easy journey, especially for the SPD parliamentary group leader, who is viewed critically in Kiev.

At exactly 6.30 a.m. the train stops abruptly at the station in Kiev, getting on a bit tired Lars Klingbeil and Rolf Mützenich out in the snow. The special train is punctual to the minute after a nearly ten-hour journey from the Polish border. The SPD leadership is on a surprise visit to Ukraine to assure the country of continued support a year after the start of the war.
