Secret services: Ministry of the Interior wants stricter examination of personnel – policy

The Office for the Protection of the Constitution has many tasks. He should not only monitor extremists, but also, for example, protect companies from espionage help. That is why the Federal Office regularly publishes guidelines on its website. For example, it was early December the topic: “Threat from insiders”, i.e. from insiders who reveal secrets. Less than three weeks later, this threat became a major issue for the German security authorities themselves. Investigators arrested Carsten L., who worked for the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) – and is said to have betrayed secrets to Russia.
