The actor Sam Neill, known from “Jurassic Park”, has cancer, as he makes public in his autobiography.

The New Zealand actor Sam Neil (75) got cancer last year. In his March 23 autobiography, Did I Ever Tell You This? (in English: “Have I ever told you that?”), Neill describes first noticing the disease during the press tour for last year’s hit movie “Jurassic World: A New Age.”

After the chemotherapy to treat his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma initially failed, a “new chemotherapy medicine” helped as Neill also describes in an interview with the British “Guardian”..

“Suddenly I had nothing more to do”

In the meantime, Neill, known for films like “The Piano” (1992) or series like “Peaky Blinders” (2013-2014), is cancer-free, but has to take the new chemotherapy medicine mentioned regularly until the end of his life.

With the writing of his autobiography the 75-year-old started during his treatment. “All of a sudden I had nothing to do and I’m used to working. I love my job,” he revealed. The letter calls Neill a “lifesaver”.
