Reparations payments – UN resolution against Russia – politics

The United Nations General Assembly has passed a resolution that is intended to provide a basis for future reparations from Russia to Ukraine. 94 countries voted in favor of the resolution on Monday in New York, thus achieving the necessary two-thirds majority. 73 countries abstained, 14 voted against – in addition to Russia, these included China, Iran and Cuba. The text of the resolution calls on Ukraine, among other things, to document information about war damage in a kind of register.
