William, Kate and their children Charlotte and George walked side by side behind her coffin at the Queen's state funeral.

Prince William (40) and his wife Princess Kate (40) arrived together with their two eldest children, Prince George (9) and Princess Charlotte (7), for the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) on Monday (September 19) in London's Westminster Abbey.

The royal family walked in a solemn procession behind the coffin the Queen after being brought to the Abbey from Westminster Hall. The four walked immediately behind the late Queen's four children and their partners.

Mama Kate calms the children down

Before the service, the Princess of Wales could be seen holding Charlotte's hand and patting her shoulder reassuringly. As the young royals walked behind their great-grandmother's coffin, Charlotte had her hands crossed in front of her, while George had his arms at his side like his parents.

In mourning clothes

Kate and Charlotte appeared in black: they combined wide-brimmed hats and tights with coat dresses. Prince William wore a blue-grey military uniform, Prince George a dark blue suit.
