Podcast: Is the national team ready for the World Cup? – Sports

The German national soccer team is already 2-0 up against England on Monday evening – and then somehow gambles away this last serious test before the World Cup in Qatar. Within three minutes, the team conceded two goals from national coach Hansi Flick and brought the previously disappointing English back into the game. After a penalty foul by Nico Schlotterbeck on his Dortmund club colleague Jude Bellingham and the subsequent 3:2 lead by Harry Kane, the English can even turn the game around in the meantime.

But the fact that the dress rehearsal before the World Cup didn’t go completely wrong from a German perspective is thanks to Kimmich and Co. a mistake by England goalkeeper Nick Pope. After a turbulent game in London and the poor performance against Hungary, the question arises: can everything go well at the World Cup?
