On the death of Pelé: A synonym of Brazil in its contradictoriness – sport
Pelé was undoubtedly the best footballer of all of Brazil’s eccentric national team. But he’s also known for keeping his mouth shut whenever one word from him would have changed everything.

In the year 1500, the Portuguese seafarer Pedro Álvares Cabral reached the spot on earth that is known today Brazil names. Cabral is credited with discovering this land, despite the fact that it was settled for a very long time when he arrived. So, depending on whether you look at it from a Eurocentric or a slightly more global point of view, Brazilian history is between almost 523 and around 10,000 years old. In any case, one thing is certain: there has never been a more famous Brazilian than Pelé in this story.
