New highs every day: Corona incidence now at 1465.4

Das Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has reported an increase in the nationwide seven-day incidence – another high. The RKI gave the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants per week on this Thursday morning as 1465.4. For comparison: the previous day the value was 1450.8, a week ago 1283.2, a month ago 362.7.

The health authorities in Germany reported 247,862 to the RKI within one day Corona new infections. A week ago there were 236,120 infections.

There are probably more infections

However, the figures are only of limited significance. Experts assume a high number of cases that are not recorded in the RKI data. Test capacities and health authorities are at the limit in many places, contacts are only traced to a limited extent. In addition, the planned prioritization of PCR tests is likely to increase the number of people who no longer have their infection confirmed by a PCR test – so that it is not included in the official statistics.

According to the new information, 238 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were 164 deaths. The number of people who died from or involved a proven infection with the Sars-CoV-2 virus rose to 119,453.

The RKI has counted 11,769,540 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. However, the actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections go undetected. The RKI put the number of people who had recovered at 8,487,100.

The number of people who came to the clinic coronainfected patients per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, the RKI gave 6.02 on Wednesday (Tuesday: 5.60). These may also include people with a positive corona test who have another main illness.
