Most recently, he received the Honorary Golden Bear in Berlin for his life’s work. Steven Spielberg doesn’t necessarily like to watch his own films over and over again. With one exception.

US film director Steven Spielberg In his own words, he rarely sees his films – but he considers one particularly successful. “ET is a pretty perfect movie,” the 76-year-old told Stephen Colbert’s late-night show. Sometimes, while watching his films, he thinks of things that he actually intended but then didn’t implement. “ET” is different: “It’s one of the few films I’ve made that I can watch over and over again.”

Born in Cincinnati in 1946, the son of Jewish parents, Spielberg became famous with the horror film “Jaws” and became a master of blockbuster cinema (“Raiders of the Lost Ark”, “ET – The Extra-Terrestrial”, “Jurassic Park”). His Holocaust drama “Schindler’s List” won seven Oscars. His latest autobiographical film The Fabelmans pays homage to his parents and is nominated for seven Oscars. At the Berlinale last month he was awarded the Honorary Golden Bear for his life’s work.
