Johnny Depp is said to be ‘devastated’ after Jeff Beck’s death. Shortly before his death he is said to have visited the rock musician.
The music world mourns the loss of eight-time Grammy winner Jeff Beck. Shortly before his death on Tuesday (January 10), the rock musician is said to have received a visit from some close friends and colleagues on his deathbed. Including actor Johnny Depp, who died after the death of his friend according to a source for People magazine to be “devastated”.
Jeff Beck is dead
“The two had a very close friendship, they were extremely close, and became even closer friends last summer while touring together,” the source said. “The illness came very suddenly and in the past few weeks things have gone downhill unexpectedly quickly. johnny still processing the news.”
Beck’s family announced on Wednesday evening that the British guitarist had died the previous day after “suddenly” contracting bacterial meningitis.
Depp and Beck released collaborative album in 2022
In July 2022, Johnny Depp and Jeff Beck their collaborative album entitled “18” as well as an official music video for the single “This Is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr”. In the summer, the duo also had a few performances together, including in several German cities. At the time, Depp spoke of an “extraordinary honor to play and write music with Jeff”. He is “one of the real big ones” and Depp considers himself lucky “to call him my brother”. Johnny Depp has yet to comment publicly on Jeff Beck’s death.
