Minister of Education on the student flat rate: Are on the home straight
Berlin The payment of the long-awaited Energy flat rate for students and technical student according to Federal Minister of Education Bettina Stark-Watzinger. “I know that young people are waiting for the money. We’re not far from the goal now,” she said FDP-Politician of the “Rheinische Post” (Saturday) and campaigned for understanding.
A payout to around 3.5 million people in 16 states at more than 4000 different ones training centers have not existed before. A number of questions had to be clarified, such as data protection. “The federal government has no access to student data held by the universities. That’s why it doesn’t work without the federal states,” said Stark-Watzinger. She announced the start of an information campaign and hotline for the coming week.
From the minister’s point of view, however, there are still some challenges: “The federal states must now clear the final legal hurdles and, together with their training institutions, provide the data of those entitled to apply for the platform. Then it can go.”
Students and technical students should receive a flat rate of 200 euros to mitigate the increased costs. Students who are at a university in Germany were enrolled.
