Learn to swim: Swimming teachers wanted! – Sports
First closed swimming pools during the corona pandemic – and now also the energy crisis and inflation. Many parents in Munich cannot afford swimming lessons for their children – and if they do, the waiting times in the big city are often endless. That is why the Dr. Ludwig Koch Foundation, together with the SZ sports editors, launched the project “To swim learn” was launched. The Koch Foundation has been supporting children’s and youth sports in Munich since the 1972 Olympic Games. The aim of the campaign is to enable as many additional children as possible to learn to swim in 2023. Every additional swimming lesson counts!
However, Munich often not only lacks the necessary water areas – but also swimming instructors. Together with the aquatics swimming school of world champion and multiple Olympic medalist Christian Tröger, we are therefore looking for swimming instructors. Would that be something for you?
The appeal is aimed at former competitive and leisure swimmers, members of swimming clubs, but also interested newcomers. Are you at least 16 years old? Can you swim safely and technically clean and move confidently in the water? Do you enjoy working with children and in a team? Commitment, patience, reliability and a bit of flexibility are there as well?
Then register without obligation at: [email protected]
If you already have a trainer’s license and/or a first aid certificate, that’s ideal, but not essential. And: Working with children and young people is exciting and sensitive at the same time, which is why we also need a certificate of good conduct in the next step. And then? After getting to know each other and training, you will take over the management of swimming courses in a team and gradually, if necessary, independently. Ideally also as part of the SZ campaign “Learning to swim”.
Are you the parent of a child or do you know a child over the age of 6 who cannot swim yet? On the sz.de/schwimmenlernen page we have put together information on the subject and also provide information on when and how the swimming courses will start.
