Berlin In view of the worsening energy crisis, the federal government is working on new aid for companies. The federal government wants the state development bank KfW strengthen, so that these energy companies can support them with even more guarantees and liquidity support. It is about credit authorizations in the amount of around 67 billion euros, the Handelsblatt learned from government circles.
The Federal Ministry of Finance intends to use credit authorizations that have already been created for the Corona rescue fund WSF for the KfW to use. “This strengthens KfW’s refinancing and expands the bank’s options for providing stabilization aid for energy suppliers,” it said.
The cabinet wants to decide on a corresponding formulation aid for the parliamentary groups on Wednesday. This way allows a quick implementation. The traffic light factions can use the amendment in the ongoing deliberations on the Eighth Consumption Tax Amendment Act. The KfW aid would then be available quickly.
