Johnny Depp settles lawsuit over on-set incident
Hollywood star Johnny Depp According to US media reports, (59) seems to have avoided a suit for damages in California. Depp’s lawyers have provisionally settled a dispute with a former employee on the set of the film City of Lies, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and other US industry portals reported unanimously on Monday. A request from the German Press Agency to Depp’s lawyers initially went unanswered.
In the civil lawsuit filed in Los Angeles in 2018, the employee accused the actor of abusive Depp in an incident during filming in 2017, punching him twice in the ribs.
The case was supposed to go to court at the end of July. Details of the alleged out-of-court settlement were initially not known on Monday.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star had a sweeping victory in a defamation lawsuit with the US actress in early June Amber Heard carried away.
The two former spouses had accused each other of domestic violence, among other things. Heard was ordered to pay Depp millions in damages.
