Italy: Draghi visits North Africa over oil and gas policy

In Italy the forests are burning, the government is on the verge of collapse – but little will stop Prime Minister Mario Draghi from following this Monday Algeria to travel to pay respects to the government. Algeria had already announced before the visit that it would increase the gas volume by a further four billion cubic meters. Since the beginning of the year, 13.9 billion cubic meters have already been delivered, exceeding the announced volume by 113 percent. Algeria has delivered a total of 21 billion cubic meters per year in recent years, making it Italy’s second largest supplier after Russia.
