IT companies are increasing their software prices sharply

Dusseldorf Building materials, fuel and office software: German companies are feeling the effects of record inflation in all business areas, including IT. A number of software manufacturers and cloud service providers have announced price increases in recent weeks and months, some of them significantly.

There is the software manufacturer SAPwith its cloud products an automatic annual price increase of 3.3 percent want to introduce. The hosting provider Hetzner, who adds ten percent for renting servers and other products. Or the IT company Microsoftwhich increased the price for the Office 365 program package by up to 25 percent in March.

The general increase in prices is an important argument for providers. It has “significant effects on all business areas, including the digital sector,” argues the cloud provider, for example OVHwhich therefore makes many products more expensive by ten percent.
