Dubai, Washington Of the Iran has started to enrich uranium to a degree of purity of 60 percent in its underground Fordow atomic plant. “We said that Iran would respond seriously to any resolution and political pressureOfficial media quoted the head of Iran’s nuclear program, Mohammad Eslami, as saying on Tuesday.

In addition, more advanced centrifuges should be built in Fordow and Nathans, added the Iranian broadcaster SNN.

At another site, Iran is already enriching uranium to up to 60 percent, well above the 3.67 percent cap set in the 2015 nuclear deal. For nuclear weapons, uranium must be enriched to 90 percent.

US circles said they were aware of the reports. However, insiders declined to confirm. The government officials reiterated the position of the United Statesthat diplomacy is the preferred way to curb Iran’s nuclear program. However, all options are available to President Joe Biden, it said. The use of language is considered an allusion to the possibility of military action.
