Iran appoints German ambassador again
Tehran is bothered by the clear stance of the German foreign minister.

Tehran Of the Iran has summoned the German Ambassador Hans-Udo Muzel again after a special session in the UN Human Rights Council. The state news agency IRNA reported on Monday.
Tehran accused Berlin of “interventionism” and “baseless statements”. Ambassador Muzel has been summoned to the Foreign Ministry in Tehran several times in recent weeks.
In Iran, people across the country have been protesting against the country’s political leadership for more than two months. The UN Human Rights Council decided on Thursday to conduct an independent investigation into the continuing violence by the Iranian security apparatus against peacefully demonstrating people. Germany and Iceland had tabled a resolution to that effect.
Recently, the tone between Tehran and Berlin had sharpened. German government officials had repeatedly criticized the violent crackdown on the protests.

Foreign Minister’s clear stance Annalena Bärbock (Greens) Tehran is a thorn in its side. High-ranking Iranian diplomats recently described Germany as a “regime”. Many Iranian security officials and politicians have also been subject to EU sanctions since the protests broke out.
The mass protests were triggered by the death of the Iranian Kurd Jina Mahsa Amini in mid-September. She died in police custody after being arrested for breaking Islamic dress codes. According to estimates by human rights activists, at least 450 demonstrators were killed and around 18,000 protesters arrested.
Interior Minister: Deportations to Iran should be suspended
Meanwhile, the interior ministers of the federal states are in favor of suspending deportations to Iran because of the tense political situation. The chairman of the conference of interior ministers, Bavaria’s head of department Joachim Herrmann (CSU), explained on Monday that deportations to the country should only continue to be possible in the case of dangerous offenders and serious offenders after a case-by-case assessment.
Herrmann called on the federal government to provide the federal states with an updated assessment of the situation in Iran. This must then be the basis for further decisions. From Wednesday to Friday, the interior ministers of the federal and state governments meet in Munich for their autumn conference.
