In Germany it will be more expensive than the EU average

Paris, Frankfort inflation is not the same as inflation. Queues formed at French gas stations in the border areas with Germany as early as the beginning of April. Many cars had German license plates. The fuel discount of 18 cents per liter just introduced by the government in Paris also attracted customers from Saarland, Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate. According to the Federal Statistical Office, a liter of premium petrol cost an average of 2.06 euros in Germany in those days France 1.83 euros.
The price difference has remained – and with it the tank tourism.
Although Europeans have a common currency, inflation varies greatly between member states. A lot depends on how countries are positioned in terms of energy supply – and how far governments go to limit the loss of purchasing power of their citizens.
