A year ago, Péter Márki-Zay was a busy man. He was in the middle of the election campaign as the top candidate of the united opposition and hoped to finally do what no one had been able to do for years: to depose Viktor Orbán from the throne. Six parties had joined forces to race the independent Conservative against the omnipotent, omnipresent incumbent.
