The Federal Government has taken the first concrete steps to reduce Germany’s dependence on China and to open up new raw material and export markets for local industry. As reported by circles in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the traffic light coalition has agreed to realign state support for German companies abroad. Specifically, the aim is to reform the granting of investment guarantees in such a way that it becomes more attractive for companies to get involved in countries that have received less attention but are potentially attractive. The motto was “open up new markets, spread risks,” it said.
