Gwyneth Paltrow in court over skiing accident

WHollywood actress is standing after a skiing accident seven years ago Gwyneth Paltrow in court. At the civil trial in Park City, Ohio, which started on Tuesday, a retired optometrist accuses the Oscar winner (“Shakespeare in Love”) of ramming and seriously injuring her while skiing in the Rocky Mountains in 2016.
Paltrow drove in a “dangerous” and “reckless” manner and caused Terry Sanderson “four broken ribs and permanent brain damage,” plaintiff attorney Lawrence Buhler said. Sanderson passed out while Paltrow drove on. The damage amounts to 3.3 million dollars (3.1 million euros).
Paltrow’s attorney Steven Owens dismissed the allegations as “total BS” (bullshit; in German: nonsense). Sanderson said he was “obsessed” with the case and making “false allegations.”
In fact, it was Sanderson who drove into Paltrow from behind at glamorous Deer Valley ski resort in February 2016, Owens said. At first, the actress even thought she was the victim of an attack. The 50-year-old has filed a counterclaim, seeking a token dollar in damages and her attorney’s fees from Sanderson.
Paltrow not only made big bucks as an actress, but also in a second career selling wellness and beauty products. On her website Goop, she also offers clothing, sex toys, and quirky products like candles with the name “This smells like my vagina.”
