Tennis players Tamara Korpatsch and Eva Lys lost their first-round duels at the start of the Australian Open on Monday. The 27-year-old Korpatsch unsurprisingly lost 3: 6, 2: 6 to former US Open winner Emma Raducanu from Great Britain.

Hamburg’s Lys won the first set against the Spanish qualifier Cristina Bucsa, but was defeated in the end 6:2, 0:6 and 2:6. The 21-year-old, who, thanks to three convincing victories in qualifying, was in the main draw for the first time Grand Slam tournament stood, had to be treated on his right wrist in the second set.
