Goalkeeper at FC Bayern: Nübel will not be the first keeper – sport

Alexander Nuebel has had one of those games that sometimes annoy goalkeepers. His team won on Sunday with a six-goal lead, but not 6-0, but 7-1. AS Monaco defenders made one mistake too many against clearly defeated AC Ajaccio to give their keeper their seventh clean sheet of the season.

According to the television pictures, Nübel, 26, did not grumble too much about the goal to make it 1: 2 in the meantime, which he almost prevented with a strong reflex. And anyway: something completely different would have to have happened to anger him so much that he would have longed for other defenders in front of him in the near future, for example those of FC Bayern.

“The change is off the table. Alexander will play in Monaco in the second half of the season,” said Nübel’s advisor Stefan Backs on Sky and has long since stopped surprising. The keeper himself has repeatedly stressed in the past how much he appreciates playing regularly at Monaco and the club may have seen no reason to return their first-choice keeper on loan mid-season.

As unsurprising as the report of Nübel’s whereabouts in France is, it still means that an at least curious situation can now finally be called a fact: FC Bayern needs a replacement for Manuel Neuer, who was injured with a broken leg, although he has this replacement – Nübel – has already committed in 2020.

Nagelsmann clearly demands that another goalkeeper must come

Coach Julian Nagelsmann had recently clearly demanded that Bayern are still active on the transfer market. “We have a duty to get another goalkeeper,” he said. Although, as he explained last Friday, “as of today” new substitute Sven Ulreich, 34, will be in goal for the game at RB Leipzig this Friday. At least one replacement for Ulreich has to come, so that he doesn’t have to rely on 20-year-old Johannes Schenk in the event of Ulreich being injured.

The desired solution to the complicated situation is still the obligation of Bayern Yan Summers, the mutual interest in working together is no longer a secret. Allegedly, also according to information from Sky, talks between Sommer’s employer Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Bayern about a transfer of the goalkeeper are now underway again. In the meantime, Gladbach had announced that it would not give up Sommer. In order to reach an agreement, Borussia must logically be able to present a successor and receive enough money to pay for it.

And Nubel? Returns to Munich as of today in June 2023, at the end of his loan.
