Gasoline price rises to more than 1.80 euros
Pjust in time for Whitsun travel is the gas price in Germany has risen to more than 1.80 euros per liter for the first time in a long time.
According to figures from the Internet portal Clever Tanken, a liter of Super E10 recently cost an average of 1.802 euros per liter. Diesel is now significantly cheaper again at 1.583 euros per liter.
Like the car club ADAC in its weekly analysis of prices from more than 14,000 service stations, the price of Super E10 has risen on a weekly basis, while diesel has dropped for the sixth straight week.
Currently around 1300 construction sites
The price difference between the two types of fuel is now 21.9 cents, which is even slightly more than the difference in taxation. Diesel has only been cheaper than Super E10 for a few weeks; after the start of the Ukraine war, things were reversed for a long time.
At a good 76 dollars per barrel (159 liter barrel), crude oil is currently rather cheap for the North Sea variety Brent.
To Pentecost Due to the high volume of traffic and more than 1300 construction sites, the car club expects many traffic jams on the construction sites, especially in southern Germany.
Last year, the Friday before Pentecost was the third busiest day of the year. On Pentecost Sunday it was usually quieter on the trunk roads, but on Pentecost Monday significant traffic disruptions were to be expected again.
Start of vacation in some federal states
In some federal states such as Berlin, Bremen, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia there is an extended Pentecost weekend, where there is also no school on Tuesday.
And Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria start a two-week holiday, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland a one-and-a-half or one-week holiday.
According to the ADAC, it is currently relatively cheap to refuel in the evening between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
