Formula 1 in Italy: Verstappen wins ahead of Leclerc

Max Verstappen won the Formula 1 classic in Monza and is already very close to the next title. The world champion in the Red Bull prevailed on the high-speed track ahead of Charles Leclerc (Monaco) in the Ferrari and Mercedes driver George Russell from Great Britain. For the Dutchman it was the fifth win in a row and the first in Monza.

Theoretically, Verstappen can already secure his second title in the upcoming race in Singapore (October 2nd), it is more likely in the following race in Japan (October 9th). In the standings, he is now 116 points ahead of his closest pursuer, Leclerc. There are still six race weekends to come this year.

Mick Schumacher finished 12th in his Haas, Sebastian Vettel had to park his Aston Martin in the early stages with a defective drive.
