Forecast – the number of nursing cases is rising sharply – politics

According to one forecast, the number of people in need of care in Germany will increase by 37 percent by 2055 simply due to the increasing aging of society. The Federal Statistical Office announced on Thursday that it would have increased from five million at the end of 2021 to 6.8 million. In 2070, around 6.9 million people in need of care will have to be cared for. The results of the projection show clear differences between the federal states. Assuming constant nursing care rates, the strongest increases due to aging can be expected by the end of 2055, at 56 percent in Bavaria and 51 percent in Baden-Württemberg. The lowest relative increase in those in need of care will be in Saxony-Anhalt by seven percent and in Thuringia by nine percent.
