After 400 competitive games, the former striker from Borussia Dortmund, Lucas Barrios, ended his playing career. "Thank you for the unconditional support all these years! I love you so much. Lucas Barrios!" the 37-year-old posted on Twitter.

Barrios celebrated his greatest successes with the BVB. In the 2010/11 season, Borussia sensationally became champions under coach Jürgen Klopp. The Argentinian-born played a large part in this, being the black and yellow top scorer with 16 goals.

Barrios was still there to win the double a year later, but a certain Robert Lewandowski pushed him out of the starting XI. The attacker then played for Guangzhou Evergrande, Spartak Moscow and HSC Montpellier, among others. He played his last games for CA Patronato in Argentina.
