In order to avoid forced shutdowns of gas in the event of a delivery boycott, NRW Economics Minister Andreas Pinkwart (FDP) advocates openly examining all other savings opportunities. One option would be for millions of employees to be sent to work from home again in autumn and winter so that offices would have to be heated less. “That could be a wise approach,” says Pinkwart. Even now, many citizens would stay away from their company offices more often than before the Corona crisis; because of the impending gas shortage, one could think about new specifications. “We have to use a lot of ideas to get along with possibly less gas,” said Pinkwart.
