Electrical appliances – delayed right to repair – economy

Europe’s consumers will have to wait a little longer for products such as mobile phones or other Electrical appliances better get it repaired. The EU Commission wanted to present a legislative proposal for a so-called right to repair in six weeks, but that is now being postponed, possibly until March, they say. The reason is apparently that an internal control body of the Brussels authority considered the prescribed impact assessment for this legal act to be inadequate. The Chairwoman of the Internal Market Committee in the European Parliament, Anna Cavazzini, is angry: “It is a scandal that this important component of the circular economy should be put on the back burner,” says the Greens MP.
