Donkey Jenny was actually Donkey Dominic
Dhe ass the American presenter Jimmy Kimmel at the Oscars as Jenny from the tragic comedy The Banshees of Inisherin wasn’t Jenny.
As Kimmel now admitted, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) had hired a California donkey, Dominic, and presented him onstage as Jenny at the awards ceremony.
“We thought it wasn’t a good idea to fly in a donkey from Ireland. That’s why we hired a donkey from Los Angeles,” the moderator confirmed the rumors about Jenny’s doppelganger.
Kimmel led the supposed Jenny onto the stage of the Dolby Theater on Monday night. The presenter joked that nominees who had to go home without an Oscar should pet the donkey to relieve stress.
The Los Angeles Times and other American media later accused the film academy of duping viewers. “I apologize on behalf of the Academy. Nothing like this will ever happen again,” Kimmel said.
