He became known with “PIMP” and “In Da Club”: Rapper 50 Cent heated up an audience of more than 8,500 people in Hamburg. In October he will come to two other German cities.

The US rapper 50 Cent has his little Germany tour in Hamburg started.

According to the organizers, more than 8,500 fans came to the almost sold-out event on Saturday Barclays Arena to sing along to hits like “In Da Club”, “PIMP” and “Outta Control”. The performance in the Hanseatic city was the first of three Germany concerts as part of his “Green Light Gang World Tour”. The 47-year-old will still be on stage in Stuttgart and Munich in October.

The show in Hamburg was opened by Bonn rapper Sugar MMFK. “I still can’t believe it. It’s like an accolade for me,” said the 29-year-old of the German Press Agency. “He’s my big hip-hop hero!”

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, is considered one of the most successful rappers in the world. His breakthrough came in 2003 with the album Get Rich or Die Tryin’, which sold millions of copies. The autobiographical film of the same name was released in cinemas in 2006. The Grammy Award winner has starred in several films and TV series.
