“Cities worth living in” – Municipalities for Tempo 30 – Politics

The initiative for more 30 km/h in the inner cities, co-founded by the cities of Augsburg, Ulm and Freiburg, is finding increasing numbers of supporters. On average, one municipality joins the project every working day, reported an employee of the “Livable Cities” initiative. More than 350 cities, communities and districts have joined. The municipalities demand that they can decide for themselves which speeds are permitted in the places. They complain that up to now there has been “hardly any willingness in the Federal Ministry of Transport in Berlin to seriously deal with our concerns”. According to the alliance, this should change this year through more public pressure.
