The President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Josef Schuster, is apparently aiming for a third term. Like the people of Würzburg main post reported, Schuster announced that he wanted to stand as a candidate in the election on November 27 in Frankfurt am Main as part of the council meeting. According to the report, a rival candidate is currently not in sight. Schuster was elected to succeed Dieter Graumann at the head of the Central Council in 2014 and was confirmed for another term four years later.
He wanted to continue fighting anti-Semitism, Schuster cited as one of the reasons for his commitment.
