South Korean K-pop group BTS have announced they are going on hiatus. Some of the singers want to pursue solo projects.
BTS are taking a break. That’s what the South Korean K-pop band has at their annual Festa dinner announced. The members reflected on their time together over dinner before discussing solo projects. RM, 27, explained, “I always thought BTS were different from other groups, but the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature.” You have to “constantly produce music and do something”.
As a band, they would have achieved incredible feats. Nevertheless, the singers would have to identify themselves as individual people and Artist still developing and maturing. J-Hope, 28, added: “I think we should spend some time apart to learn to be one again.” The group becomes “stronger this way”.
Solo projects planned
The seven singers would start “thinking about what kind of artist we all want to be remembered as,” explained Jimin (26). Suga (29) clarified: “It’s not like we’re breaking up.” There are plans for solo projects, the singers continued. J-Hope and Suga are planning solo releases, Jungkook (24) announced a solo album. J-Hope also has a big gig at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago in July.
It’s not the first time that bts take a break At the end of 2019 they took a break in order to really take off internationally. Another break followed at the end of 2021.
