Biathlon – Herrmann-Wick brings sprint ball – sport
World Champion Denise Herrmann-Wick secured the small crystal globe in the Sprint World Cup with a victory in the penultimate race of her biathlon career. The 34-year-old sprinted to the eleventh World Cup success of her career on Saturday without shooting errors at the Holmenkollen in Oslo. Behind the Saxon, Sweden’s Hanna Öberg (0 penalties) finished in second place, 3.5 seconds behind, third was Anna Magnusson from Sweden (0). Herrmann-Wick triumphed for the second time after 2019/2020 in the discipline ranking in the sprint. Four days after announcing her retirement at the end of the season, Olympic champion Herrmann-Wick hit all ten shots and was unstoppable on the track in warm conditions and sunshine. The race on Friday could not take place due to fog and was postponed by one day. The pursuer planned for Saturday was canceled for this. At the mass start on Sunday, the last race of her career, Denise Herrmann-Wick finished sixth. In fourth place, Hanna Kebinger achieved the best World Cup result of her career.
