Baden-Württemberg - Full refugee accommodation - Politics

Baden-Württemberg's Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann described the situation in the initial reception centers as very tense in view of the high number of refugees. The country has a serious problem, said the Greens politician, and halls will probably also have to be used as quarters. However, Kretschmann does not believe in a recording freeze. "We have to accommodate them. There is no freeze on admission. How is that supposed to work?" The people would be distributed via the Königstein key, this is a mandatory task. Kretschmann called for a nationwide meeting on the subject with the federal government and municipalities. So far, more than 125,000 refugees from Ukraine have found refuge in Baden-Württemberg.

The German Association of Cities also warned of bottlenecks.
