Tomato soup or porridge: The artist Jonathan Meese has absolutely no understanding for certain actions by climate activists.

The artist Jonathan Meese has a clear opinion on certain actions by climate activists in museums. He hates the “constantly fueled screams about the end of the world,” he said in an interview with the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” that he gave together with the filmmaker and writer Alexander Kluge.

“And revenge is great with Richard Wagner, and revenge sucks in reality. And revenge on van Gogh, by throwing pap at him, even sucks,” he said. “I don’t care how many dollars van Gogh’s paintings cost – but how can you not see with your heart what his paintings are worth? Vincent van Gogh is the purest, purest love!”
