The Kansas City Chiefs have won the Super Bowl for the third time. The team around star quarterback Patrick Mahomes beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the high-class final for the title of the National Football League on Sunday (local time) in Glendale with 38:35. The Chiefs caught up on a ten-point deficit at halftime and scored the decisive three points with a field goal shortly before the end.

The strong Mahomes threw three touchdown passes for a total of 182 yards in front of a crowd of 67,827. The 27-year-old was named the main round’s Most Valuable Player last week and is now the first pro since 1999 to win both the Super Bowl and the MVP title in a single season.
The Chiefs had previously won the Vince Lombardi Trophy in 1970 and 2020. For the Eagles it remains the only Super Bowl triumph so far in 2018.
