Accused of throwing eggs at King Charles III.

In Britain, a young man has been charged with laying eggs on the British king in York, northern England, last month Charles III should have thrown. The 23-year-old was charged with “threatening behavior,” local law enforcement officials said on Monday. He has to answer in court from mid-January. If convicted, the York man faces up to six months in prison.

The accused is said to be Charles III. threw several eggs during a visit to York in mid-November. These had just missed the British king. “This country was built with the blood of slaves,” the accused is said to have shouted at the time. Shortly thereafter, he was arrested by the police on “suspicion of disturbing public order” and later released on bail.

One condition of his temporary release was that he was not allowed to carry eggs in public, except when shopping. British media reported at the time that it was an activist from the climate protection movement Extinction Rebellion, who had previously run for the Greens.

Earlier this month, Charles III. also had an egg thrown at him during a tour of the town of Luton near London. The officers then arrested a 28-year-old, who was later released on bail. The man is also due to appear in court in January.
